Christian Hernandez
Eng / Christian Hernandez Gallardo is the Director of Platform Partnerships for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Facebook, where he engages with entrepreneurs, developers and innovative companies to jointly build a new social web. Since joining Facebook in 2009, Christian and his team have worked with leading media, gaming mobile and e-commerce companies to help make large companies social and social companies large.
Prior to Facebook, Christian was Google’s Head of New Markets and led its commercial expansion into Central and Eastern Europe. Previously, as Head of Distribution Partnerships, he was involved in the incubation and commercialization of a series of products, including mobile search and mobile ads, Android and the Chrome browser. Christian has also worked at Microsoft where he was the Global Marketing Manager for the first generation of branded Windows Mobile smartphones. He started his career in technology as a Product Manager for MicroStrategy, a software start-up he joined prior to its 1998 IPO.
Christian holds a degree in Economics from Duke University and an MBA from The Wharton School. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Wharton Alumni Association, the Board of Advisors at Seedcamp and is an investor and advisor to a number of technology start-ups. Born in El Salvador and having grown up across Latin America, the US and Europe, Christian now resides in London with his wife and two children.
